Met Police Firearms Officers

We don't know. But what we do know is the shooter was trigger happy and now all his mates are terrified about what might happen to them.

Why?

They have a massive responsibility - life or death decisions - and they need to accept responsibility should they make a wrong decision. If they can't do that they are in the wrong job.

It is absolutely right that they do not have immunity from legal action.

Indeed...

Otherwise you just end up with a third world death squad...

Although in order to uphold law and order there needs to be a system to hold the police properly to account...

“Since 1990, when recording began, no police officer has been found guilty of murder or manslaughter following a death in police contact or custody"

Lots of unarmed innocent people shot, including a guy in bed and another carrying a table leg...

No convictions...

Cruella says....

“They mustn’t fear ending up in the dock for carrying out their duties. Officers risking their lives to keep us safe have my full backing and I will do everything in my power to support them"

Except keeping safe the innocent people they kill of course...

And of course she is now demanding that the UK withdraws from the ECHR...

Third world politics!

"Mr Kaba died after he was struck by a single bullet in Streatham Hill, south London. The CPS reminds all concerned that criminal proceedings against the officer are active and that he has the right to a fair trial".

I think in his own tiny anti-police mind, Ellal has already found the officer guilty and is busy working out the sentence….

Roy will be on in a minute expecting us to believe the shot bloke was innocent.
Innocent of carrying a gun when he was killed? Yes, there is no argument about that.

What is the other crime you believe he was found guilty of, for which the legal punishment is summary execution?

I’m not anti police, it must be a sh*t job at times working for the Met, but I’m anti inappropriate protection of rogue police, remember Sarah Everard. Theres no need to turn this into a culture war us against them, despite Cruella’s efforts.

Blup

Of course he was innocent.
Innocent until killed proven guilty.
Or does that not apply in your opinion, depending on the colour of their skin?

The police officer will get a fair trial. Something which he denied to Chris Kaba.
