Miele WT2670 Washer Dryer Fan Assembly

Hi, it's telling on the Miele website their fixed price offer is for units under 9 years except washer dryers then it's 4 years. Plus they mention "beyond economic repair".

Looking on eBay my 9 year old WT2670 is worth 250-450 if it's fully working. But the fan assembly has just died with no warning and it's not a readily available part.

I guess if it's Miele only that's 2 weeks and probably £300 ish, with fitting it myself obvs.

So, I guess its probably just a bearing on the assembly. My question is if I get the unit out - the machine runs fine with it unplugged - can I overhaul it? If it takes to weeks to source the parts that's not so bad if they're only a few quid.

So, scrap it or make a go of it?

Shout if I can't remove the side and would have to take the drum out for access, I'm going in! Will try and remove the offending item from the depths of the beast...

So, is this a serviceable part? Guessing if I put it back in as is (cleaned up) will just fall apart some more

OK from the fan blade shape and from memory when it was spinning guessing as you look at it spins anti clockwise. Screw is a T20. Soaking in wd40. Is it definitely going to be clockwise to loosen? Ie opposite to normal? Really don't want to round this sucker off.

Of course it's rounded off. Assuming I can dremel a slot in the screw and get it out have a ordered a new fan for £40, main gasket £20, lower gasket £10, plus delivery.

Now, do I run the broken fan for next 10 days or find a friendly local launderette??
