Can anyone tell me where I can get a set of these please?

Scroll half way down the page until you reach the heading "Nut slotting tool". It's a bunch of small files for the welding industry.

Or can you think of another way to cut the slots in nuts to fit the strings?

Cheers.

They are nozzle cleaners, for oxy fuel welding/cutting.
Just about every welding supplier sell them, a couple of quid a set.
Ebay is good for stuff like that, probably easier than going into a welding suplies shop

im sure there is a firm based in the US called stewart mac donald and they sell all sorts of guitar building suppiles including a set of nut files they are the right tool for the job.

How many nuts are you replacing and how much are the guitars worth?

I've bought cheap guitars and adjusted nuts on those using a rat-tail file for the wound and G strings and an old serrated paring knife for the thinner strings. Luthier tools could have set me back more than the guitars. ;)
