I have two light circuits from a 2-gang 2-way switch. I have replaced the switch as I was expecting it to be a 2-gang 1-way switch and I wanted one set of lights to be operated with 2-way switching. The existing connections were RED to Com on Switch 1 and linked across to Com on Switch 2, BLUE to L1 on Switch 1 and YELLOW to L1 of Switch 2.
I have successfully connected new 1-gang switch in 2-way switching with original Switch 2. I have again linked the Commons of the two original switches and the BLUE wire to L1.
Circuit 2 is fine but circuit 1 does not work (It is not bulb). Circuit 1 is a single light, circuit 2 comprises two lights. Any suggestions on what to do about circuit 1 would be appreciated.
The original installation was done by a keen DIY owner, rather than an electrician. One of the light fittings on the working circuit has six wires, this may be relevant. Everything worked fine as two 1-way circuits.
Thanks
