Last week I had the whole system shut off & am still getting hot water, so I was thinking the tank wasn't working properly. The BG engineer checked the tank & said that if it was over heating or not working it would have been making a lot of noise. But even with the system switched off, the pipe coming from the tank was warm (where all the other pipes were cold).
If the system is shut off, how does the water pump itself up 3 storeys?
The level of water in your cold water storage tank is higher than your expansion tank, with gravity from the cold water tank going into your cylinder and pushing hot water up to your expansion tank and over flowing.
