It's interesting isn't it. I've been trying to get my head round it.
The way I've decided to think about it now, is that Brexit has caused a supply shock, in the supply of labour. Essentially, our economy is now too big for the size of the workforce. This is causing inflation. And we have two short term choices to reduce inflation. One is to deliberately reduce the size of our economy, by triggering a recession. And the other is expand the workforce. One way to do that is to import cheap labour from Eastern Europe.
