Hi all,

I have just had a shell extension completed on my house.

The internal leaf of the cavity wall is aerated block which will be dot and dabbed. The boiler will need to be installed on one of these walls. I was planning to put a solid bed of adhesive where the boiler bracket will be and use Corefix dot and dab fixings. The boilers weighs 43kg.

Will this be sufficient?

Just get (long enough) fixings that go into the blockwork. Whether that be chunky screws and plugs or coach screws (and plugs) etc.

If it's just steel plate, snug to the wall, then anything 60mm or longer and chunky like M6 or above.

Thank you for your feedback. Could I cut a bit of ply and secure it to the wall then put the plasterboard over it so that it bridges the gap between plasterboard and aerated block?
