Mounting tv on hollow false chimney breast

It is too high. You will get a crick in the neck.
I'll correct that for you winston1, 'some' people may notice neck issues, our 55" tv's top edge is in line with the door frame and has been for the last 7 or 8 years and no one in our house has any issues with it, it also depends how far away your sat from it.

As you had the "wall" open why did you not run the cables inside the void?
Bit of a bigger job. This cable runs power so technically needs a conduit. Easy to open up wall again later when we figure out exactly what we need but ultimately that will be the plan :)
 
my stud walls have t&e and data/phone/coax running in them not in conduit so technically the wall cavity is the conduit.

when i saw the first of the three pics I thought the square cutout at the bottom right of the left hand hole was for a single back box with a brush plate for the cables to exit
