Moved into flat dormant for 9 months Isar Ideal HE30

Sooee who posts on this forum is in Liverpool!

Search for him! ( not spelt right bun sounds the same! )

Look in his profile for contact details. I am sure he will be ( fairly ) happy to help!

Be aware these boilers have not been as reliable as we would expect.

First look at teh FAQ on this site for spinning the Myson type pump.

I have done the search for you and the screen name is "Sooey".

Sorry I did not spell it correctly before.

Probably a mis spelling of Chop Suey !

From what you are saying it's a CP pump which has black plastic nut on front. Unscrew this and pull spindle towards you. Do this with main boiler switch off. Turn the boiler on and the spindle should rotate clockwise you can try to twist it at the same time. If there is lots of resistance the pump impeller will be jammed inside.
Very common if static water sitting in pump for a length of time. If it needs changed the ideal part no is 173963. It's a 15-20 min job if you know this boiler. Unfortunatly repeated firing of boiler with little water in it ans a faulty pump can lead to failure of hex by overheating.
TBH phone Ideal and pay the extra for call out and years cover. You can cancel it after the year if you wish but in the short term it's probably cheaper and easier than someone out the yellow pages.
Although working for Ideal I would say that!!

I agree.

I had an Isar HE 30 yesterday with what appeared to be a duff pump.

Told the lady to call Ideal out on a fixed price repair.

No way I could swap the pump for £210 all in and would take until about wednesday/thursday to get a new pump in.

£200+ just for the pump? I'll have to have a look at those eyesores.
