Hi all, a bit of help please, I have been replacing the glass in the doors of my stove, 3 nuts came off ok but 1 the stud broke off. Question if I make a stud to weld back on does it have to be anything special? or can I cut off and use the threaded part of an ordinary bolt, thanks REG

Any stud will do, Reg - just don't tighten the things up much.
Stainless steel is better, coppaslip grease is unlikely to help, but as the doors are often cast iron, go for brazing rather than welding.
John :)

TO Burnerman, Hi John, to the rescue again, thanks for the info, a friend is a welder by trade i'm sure he will do brazing as well so thanks again, REG
