Nanny state at it again ...

im not sure how hot that maximum setting is to the hand, I will have to find out.

We have a combi boiler and I keep the water temperature setting down on that but increase it when I want to take a bath.
That way, I know the kids cannot scald themselves.

I think that all showers should be thermo controlled though.

Again, ours is so we are pretty safe.

I can remember as a child being in the shower and it suddenly going freezing ( some one else using the tap at same time I think?)and so turning off the cold water, only to find it then suddenly being scalding hot!

nanny statish maybe but I think all baths should have removable plugs.(as opposed to those that you twist a dial and it locks them and you cant take them out completely.

I always removed plug and put it up high so my babies couldnt fill the bath and drown or fill the bath and scald themselves.

A bit of topic, but in a similar vain. my local counsel are testing headstones in the municipal cemertry, because they say there have been recorded accidents ,even fatalites caused by unsafe headstones nation wide.
Concequently scores of headstones in the cemertry have been deemed unsave including my mothers, which I have since inspected and I cannot get any movement out of the headstone by pushing, pulling it.
.Still I better pay the£60 to make it safe as I would hate the thought of my mothers headstone falling on someone and causing a fatality ,albeit only 2ft high

a few councils did that down our way and caused uproar. The blokes went around with a pressure tester and if they failed they got knocked down flat. A little bit insensitive. When the local rag asked them about it thye could actually find no reported case of anyone being hurt by a headstone falling over

talk about headless chickens ..lol

building/plumbing regs now say , that old peoples homes have thermostats controls on hot supplies with hot/cold mixers

some wind up merchants trying to say its not a problem when it is ..

we need to ensure that council care homes are very safe ... :)

That happened down here..they found a few lose ones and proceded to dig up half the graveyard...then left it like it for ages...loads of complaints

These people dont do it because of some massive social conscience they do it because they dont want to get their arse's sued

can you blame them with the Vicky Pollard types an scummy mothers out there , they would let child no7 get crushed to death ,
an hope to be on Big Bruv over it ,

after suing Britian back to the stoneage .. helped by B'liars b* ** wife .....

25,000 - 30,000 people a year killed and injured falling from ladders and steps in the home.

They should be banned, or restricted to no more than 500mm high....
