neat wall flex outlet

Interesting, not seen that before. I'd suggest it would be better behind a BG switch as the MK edge contour may not be identical.
I have seen flex outlet isolators, similar to that pic, but with the flex outlet via the edge/bottom before, though never an adaptor like that.

yes that would be a concern. I've got a couple on the way in the post so I'll give them a go and depending how they fit and look I'll either go with that or drill and chase as per @EFLImpudence 's suggestion. If I go for drilling I'll pop some kind of grommet in the hole too.

Mk switches fit very low in the grid and i think will hit the clamp bit.
If its on the lighting circuit you could use a 2 way gridswitch and a grid flex outlet

Thanks good idea although actually i neglected to mention the same switch plate is also switching the main ceiling light, so it's already a double switch.
Triple grid switches need a two gang plate, but i think I'd go for JohnW2's suggestion of a blanking plate further up the wall before a double gang plate.

For the record both sides of the bed have the same setup, with a double switch, one for the respective wall light plus one for the main light.

It all sounded simple in my head, i thought the chasing out would be the hard part not the second fix!

It is simple.

I don't understand what the problem is.

That it's beside the bed is irrelevant.
You have three lights, all with two-way switching.

You need two three-gang two-way switches, put them where you want them and wire it accordingly.

A hole in the base with the flex held by the clips you yourself mentioned.

Yes i know there are lots of simple options I'm just trying to find the best one!
Although not quite as simple as you suggest, as we have the main light three way switched and the bedside lights switched from two places.

Thanks for all the ideas, just an update in case it helps anyone in future.
In the end the cord grip spacer fitted perfectly so it is all relatively to standards. Just needed slightly longer screws to reach the back box.,
The only slight irritation is the redundant inline switch in the necessary part of the cable, but the cable goes inside the arm so it's not trivial to rewire/i didn't fancy ruining an expensive light.

Solder it at a point hidden in the frame.
That's a nice idea, hadn't thought about that! I could pull some through and then pull it back again.
I'll add it to the to-do list.:D
Ye, that would annoy the ti......z :LOL:of me, if i had to look at that ! Do it right !
Yeah that's the 80:20 rule in action though! I can either do 20% of the jobs properly or a near enough job on 80% of them!
If i only had this one job to do, trust me it would be a work of art!

Why didn't you use one of these?

Is that light fused? It's it a spur from the socket ring?

Because it's specified to be two way switched, one switch beside the bedroom door, the other close to the light. It is on the lighting circuit which is protected by a 6A MCB.
Also since the ceiling light is specified to be 3 way switched (both sides of the bed and the main door) it is nice to have one single faceplate with both switches on each side of the bed.

I dunno how I missed the two way switched comment before. I think the double pole such mixed my mind up

But I still say replace the cable. It will look far more professional. Even better with white.

Might do although the fabric cable varies according to which colour the mechanism is, so i assume it's been chosen by someone highly qualified in order to justify the cost.
If i go too far down this route, before i know it I'll have an mk angled batten holder with a simple led bulb:LOL:
