hey, am buying a log cabin, but not able to decide whether I should spend the extra for the UPVC door and and windows or a wooden frame will do.
I live in south east London so the weather is moderate.
I've heard of warping and doors not fitting after a while, but haven't seen any particular feedback whether wood vs uPVC frames stood better in the longer term.

Any advice please ?
Thanks in advance

It's a tradeoff between aesthetics and maintenance. UPVC will require next to no maintenance. Some prefer the look of timber. Timber outdoors needs protection, which needs periodically renewing. Your call.

Thanks. By renewing, would you mean any timber work or just the standard wood maintenance like treating wood with paint, etc ?

Do i need to concern myself with anything structural ?

treating wood with paint
Yes, renewing the coating rather than replacing the actual timber. [Replacing the timber is what you have to do, if you don't keep on top of maintaining the coating].

I am going to say "no". You said you are buying a log cabin, rather than building one, so whoever is manufacturing it will be responsible for ensuring the options they are giving you about types of doors, windows, etc are structurally sound.
