Hi I recently just had a patio done as part of that they removed a step and when they did the cement used to bridge the gap between the door threshold and step crumbled that wasnt a problem the problem is in there enthusiasm to fix it they cut the dpm back to the door so exposing around 20-30mm of brick that i now need to seal and fix so water doesnt sneak in and cause damp 1st pic of what it used to be like 2nd what it is now

OP,
Do you have a porch roof?
How high is the step above the linear drain?
The new patio level might have bridged the DPC? Is the floor solid or suspended?
Why not rake out all the loose material & clean up, (use a vacuum).
For new pics - why not stand back for a big context.

Hi thankyou for replying
No porch its the door to the rear garden.. the step is one brick course to the ACO drain .my only concern is where they cut the dpm back to the door frame instead of leaving it over hanging the brick work which is now exposed to the elements there is 40mm of exposed brick when the door is closed
