Need some second opinions on new hep installation work

Other heating engineers shouldn't really comment on the workmanship of their colleagues IMO,

Yes, I was always told not to criticise another plumber's work. As this guy obviously wasn't a plumber, it doesn't count in this case.

Gosh, what a reactionary lot you are!

Granted, the work is untidy, but, as long as the joints are properly assembled with inserts, they should be fine and should last for decades.

Pushfit has been in use for at least 25 years and there must be millions of satisfactory joints in use out there.

Stop frightening the OP.

Debate goes on..........

Copper will freeze and burst, plastic will not
Plastic will be chewed by rodents, copper will not.
Plastic should be without joints where no access available, copper can be solder joints.
Plastic needs many clips, copper can be bent and looks miles tidier with stipulate clipping.

Looking at the pictures, I would have it redone (possibly partially).

Someone was talking about price issues. Surely less joints on plastic would be cheaper than what I see in the picture. Also, if CH, is it barrier pipe? Already said, plastic is better out of sight. If under tile and rodents have no access to it, I would use plastic (no joints). Ensure joints are properly support sleeved.

I mentioned price issues but these include time .... plastic is much quicker I find... I guess it all depends..

Well, I for one am imspressed with the 'ickle' bit of foam lagging on the pipe far left.

Pure class.

It is not so much the use of plastic, but the way in which it is done.
Lots of pipes close together, short bits with unnecessary connectors, no insulation, huge gaps ( I can't called it a notch ) and in the wrong place by the looks of it too.
It has all the hallmarks of "anything goes that makes the job quicker" mentality, which is not conducive to a good endresult.

Well put
