Need to remove lock cylinder and I can't find the retaining screw. There is an odd, 6 pointed star shaped hole

Hi, can anyone help me figure out how the remove this lock cylinder please? I can see parts moving when the hand is lifted. There doesn't seem to be a screw in the hole but it's difficult to see in. Thank you.

Are you trying to change the 'EuroLock' barrel? Looks to me that the barrel is retained by a Torx screw - the lower one is the security version.

Thank, yes am trying to get the lock cylinder out to measure. It does look like a torx screw but I'm not sure that that part is moveable as it looks like it's part of the surrounding plate. Will have a look

That (Torx) screw is the barrel retaining screw. Removing it frees the barrel, you then have to put the key in the barrel and turn it slightly one way or other before you can pull the barrel out.
When you get a new barrel to put in you should get an 'anti-theft' one and then insert it the right way round; you will need to read the notes regarding that.
