If I knew enough about the electrics to give "a better description", I'd likely not need to post on here asking for help in the first place!

s that existing fused switch on a radial or ring circuit?

Not a clue, and the wiring is all behind tiles.

Any clues on how to check? A specific breaker marked "cooker" on the CU, for example?

Does the dishwasher have a plug on it or does it connect to an outlet plate?

I'll try to drag it out later, and have a look.
IIRC though, it's nigh-on stuck in there.

Replacing the single back box and renewing a faceplate:I can do.

Doing "the right thing" though: that's why I'm posting on here
