Needing the screw part of a clamp

I made one a few years ago from bits and pieces lying around in the garage, slow to use in comparison with the scissor type but it works really well.

Yep, that's pretty good. My design is similar inasmuch as it uses a frame. Difference is the frame (made of angle iron about 1" on sides) fits over the top half of the flag. On the inside of this frame on one side is a rubber strip. On the opposite side are two screw jacks with rubber pads. It was envisaged that each end had a handle, so it would take two to set down a flag. It would leave a gap between flag edges of the thickness of the angle iron - about 3mm.
