Nest 3 and Hot Waters

Hi All,
Had a Nest 2 installed professionally and have now upgraded to Nest 3 myself to take advantage of hot water control but I am unsure of wiring for hot water. My question is after connecting the "call for HW" from heat link to wiring junction box do I have to disconnect any wires to original programmer or can I just leave it permanently on (as for CH).
