New Boiler - Long flue or pump ?

I'm fasinated to know, only 50 quid to extend the gas & F&R pipes?? I'd charge that for an hours Labour!!

Thanks for the recommendation matey, appreciated.
I've got a price for the install which had straight forward condensate pipe into next room, to use a pump instead would be £52 extra or the extended flue pipe alternative would be £120 more (just extra hardware cost)

But 'extra over' items are never costed on materials only??!! Very strange, you're either doing the job yourself or its Cowboys you've in.

Just think about it... If it was someone's remit to follow these fitters around, carrying out the "extras" that are done, on this basis, they would earn diddly squat a year
Doesn't make any sense!
How much are you paying for the install?

Hi guys, quotation was:-
Remove old boiler
Fit new Vaillant Ecotec 430 in new position on other side of garage
2x flue components for above
Extend flow/gas pipe work for install
System flush
Magnetic filter added
Reconfigure cistern pipe work from 'Y' to 'S'
Wire in 'Hive' controller
Add 11x thermostatic valves
10yr Parts & labour Warranty
2yrs free emergency cover for heating system
£2190

It's a fairly large company, guy said it would be a day job for two guys, extras priced as previous post were at cost ? I'm assuming I'm already paying for a days labour for two guys anyway ??

from the feedback I think I'll go for the outside wall/short flue root, hopefully I'm not employing Cowboys as suggested :)

How many kW is your existing boiler?

Whose idea to use a 30 kW boiler?

Do you think the more powerful the boiler the better?

Currently 12 rads, having double storey extension so will end up with extra bedroom + 9mx5m dining kitchen with wet underfloor.
Will end up with 12 rads & 8kw allowance for underfloor, does this sound about right if a rad =1.5kw ??

If you're asking these questions your installer/s can't be much good??!! It looks cheap to me!!

That price does seem very cheap!
But that doesn't necessarily mean it will be a poor job! I would ask them for references if you have some doubt!
Where are you located?

Based in Yorkshire.
I think I've veered from the original question slightly which was just a second opinion about a longer flue.
Apologies if I've seemed to ask more Q's, I was just trying to offer additional info to people's questions, queries & observations on here.
Quite confident I've got a good price from a company with good feedback... Only time will tell

Thanks for everyone's input

Shortest flue route the better. I've changed 2 condensate pumps in 11 years. Changed a fair few non return valves but they're pennies in comparison.
