Gas Safe? Yes
References? Yes was recommended by friend
Type of controls? Salus wireless thermostat controller
Powerflush? No. A chemical flush and chemical cleaner
Filter? Yes femtox magnetic filter already installed. Going to reuse
Copper or plastic? Don't know. But there's not a lot of pipework to do and existing is copper
All materials and parts included? Yes
Expected time to completion: 1.5 days ,+ 1 courtesy visit to check 2 weeks later

Well, sounds all good for you apart from... No powerflush as this is usually a requirement for warranty and also vastly improves your system performance and longevity; the Salus controls are crap and do they even qualify for boiler plus requirements? And the magnetic filter is rubbish if it's a "Fernox" TF1... I'd be checking to see how much crud that has collected but beware it might leak after checking...

Hope it all goes well. Post some photos when it's done then we can judge if the price really is value for money (y)

bloomin nora... the pro's on here are a bitter bunch (most , not all!).

@amandax don't worry they're talking codswallop, powerflush is not tied in with the warranty, you'd only need that if you had a filthy system. You have got a average deal there (pricewise) and the installer will be making the best part of a grand out of 1.5 days work.

Ive been on the forum long enough to know how the pros operate here. They hate DIYers and they hate other pros undercutting them and getting jobs.

Is that your professional opinion or just your usual uninformed bullschit.

No one is criticising the price, nor the boiler. We're simply warning of the risks not complying with the manufacturer's instructions. If you think a manufacturer won't walk away from a warranty if the system isn't clean, especially on a budget boiler then you are more stroud than you appear.

Salus controls are utter rubbish. There are alternatives out there for similar money. I'm pretty sure none of them comply with currents regs when fitted with a combination boiler. But then as an expert qualified to comment on boiler installations, you already knew that didn't you?

How many TF1's has installed in his illustrious career? Wonder if that qualifies him to comment on how likely they are to pizz central heating water all over the place after a few months? I've installed a few, and all but one have been ripped out as leaking piles of schit.

OK Mr IHateBudgetInstallations; explain this:
  1. Show me where Baxi stipulate that it has to have a power flush in their instructions.
  2. How on earth could any manufacturer prove if you had a powerflush or not (as oppose to a chemical flush)?
All the rest of what you say is just personal brand bias; You hate fernox filters; good for you. You hate Salus... great. Stick with your premium nest and hive products that serve your posh clients.

you do not answer a question with a question. sign that you know your talking b011ox but still persist

No you don't. Which is exactly what you did. A system should be treated to BS7593 (do you possess this document or Re regurgitating things you've picked up and misinterpreted here?) To state from the outset that the installation is not having a powerflush says it all.

You so need to learn the difference between "your" and "you're" if you really want to start this line of argument.. ;)

I asked 5 questions (some rhetorical and hence no need for a question mark which might have confused you) prior to your quoted post above. Yet you fired back with more questions about the need for a powerflush over a chemical flush.

Before trying to be a smart arse, you might want to actually learn the subject you are talking about. Blimey, at least Bernie makes an effort to learn something about the subject in hand.

A system should be treated to BS7953

BS 7953 : 1999 describes the types of interior and exterior entrance flooring systems, and gives recommendations for methods of selection, planning, installation and maintenance.

Power flush your floor matting to get a longer warranty on the boiler ? Don't think that works......

Bloody autocorreckt B7593...
