Sorry the previous message zoomed off before I had finished it!

I do not think that there will be an answer to this question but i thought I would ask anyway.

Our multipiont water heater has just packed in so am wondering about replacing it with a new combi one to supply hot water and CH. (getting rid of the 15 year old CH boiler into the bargain)

So which Boiler?

Safegas say Worcester Bosh as being best
WHICH reports come out with a Baxi on the top which Safe gas say is not very good and do not install.
?????????
Any suggestions

Thanks Paul Hudson

Assuming safegas is a local firm then ask a few more and you will get a few more different opinions!

Most installers prefer Vaillant and Viessmann to a Worcester.

But then again ask 100 gas men and you will get 100 different answers on which is the best boiler on market......

The Which? report is junk.

How did they test the boilers? What criteria did they use? Efficiency wise they are all very similar.

Reliability and ease of repair is the key and Which? didn't have them on test long enough to determine either.

I would concur with Safegas (whoever they are) that the better product of the two is the Worcester Bosch.

The best of two mediocre products is not the best in the marketplace.

Having looked round this site and seen the posts (on this question "Best Boiler" and others) I really get the impression that the combi boilers will not last more that 7 years so am now wondering about separate boilers as we had/have one for water and one for CH; is that a better (though more expensive) way to go?

Thanks in advance for any comments, your time and expertise.

A good quality boiler, installed correctly and serviced to MI's should last about 15 years minimum, ie an ATAG.

Have a look at these ;)
