I'm in the process of replacing my old condensing boiler to a combi, I've had what I think is a decent quote but not sure which boiler to choose. The options are a Worcester 30i with a 5 year warranty or a viessmann 10kw with a 10 year warranty or viessmann 29kw with a 7 year warranty any info on the said boilers would be appreciated

Have you read the different warranties for the 3 boilers you have listed.

Who runs the warranty ?.

Its important as you may not be covered for what you expect, believe me.

Inter... oh, whatever! Do some reading and decide for yourself. There's sh!t loads of info here and elsewhere.

10kw combi sounds small unless it's only for hand washing. Normally 24 is the minimum for a good shower in winter (10+litres a minute)

Assuming it is a typo and OP means 30kw

Out of those boilers mentioned, I would go Worcester because parts are easier to get and aftersales is good.

If you want a worcester, get the 29kw CDi Classic - not the new model compact series. CDi classic is proven and a known quantity.

Ah with only a 10KW CH requirement, you need Tony Agile, he's your man when it comes to combi Turn Down.

Top 100 Gas Engineer by the way!!

The options are for any boiler in the marketplace.

Some installers will only fit one make. Usually because they get encouragements from the makers and have to keep their numbers up.

Others because they always fit just one make and don't want to bother learning about others.

The Intergas are one of the better in my view but they don't even give the installer a teeshirt, just a pen and a mug!

Worcester highly incentivize their installers and give a range of benefits, I have their teeshirt. Also a thick waterproof coat but its so tatty now that I don't want to wear it any more.

There you go!! Top notch technical advice & you've had further insight into the content of his wardrobe. Though, it's unclear if he shares his wardrobe with his Lodger??!!

Perhaps you should be made aware; some boiler manufacturer's Reps may employ the 'sharp' practice of trying to sell you a boiler. There's a member on here with endless access to Google(other search engines are available), completely hoodwinked into viewing the sales brochure of a certain Dutch manufacturer.
So the best advice I can offer up; be careful, it's a Jungle out there!!
