It's been discussed before, and whatever the rationality, or lack of, there is no doubt that 522.6.202 (i) only talks about cables connected to a point, accessory or switchgear.
With plasterboard+skim it won't be far off >50mm deep, doesn't make the workmanship any good, just fortituousban-all-sheds, the cable is currently set 40mm back.
What about the other side and the bottom?
Regardless of whether it's right or not in terms of regulations and workmanship, that combination of fittings is going to be a constant niggle to anyone who isn't blind or paralytic. Fittings "not quite in line" comes up alongside "fittings not level" on my list of things that irritate me
