With so many sub forums of its own are you are proposing this be a new section of the forum Joe as opposed to a sub forum of GD?

I was but it isn't going to happen. JohnD gives you the clue when he says:

Quite why a poster like JohnD should worry about niche marketing is a mystery (unless he owns the site).
So the problem is not that it would be unpopular - but that it would be too popular and distract from the core business of DIY.
Hence it will never happen.

as Diane say there are plenty of other forums for this sort of thing, this one is not it.
@joe90 : People will not contribute to forums, however interesting they sound, if they think you are going to use every thread as n excuse to abuse them.
I would quite like to contribute to a Literature forum on here and discuss poetry, etc., but only with people who don't feel the need to insult and attack me. It's just tedious.
Attack my ideas by all means (once you've learnt the basics of rational argument!) but there's no need to be personal. Until you can communicate without calling people 'you dope'or 'you nob', you'll not get many takers!

It won't be my forum. It will be a forum presided over by SuzieQ and she is quite a stickler for good behaviour. That means even people of a 'highly strung' personality should be quite safe from the viperous tongue of the Mighty Joe-90. GD is a free for all sawdust strewn bar room. The other place would be more sedate and genteel.

oy!!! daft tart i may be......but even i know the motoring and software forums are for people doing it themselves................i doubt if bill gates avails himself of the software pages....
