I live in Belgium, I have just renewed the hob for a halogen one. The old hob has 5 wires, earth, neutral and live plus 2 black. I have wired up the new one with the 3 wires as it did not come with 5, E-E.N-N and L-L. The hob will not work. If I was to link wires, what ones should be linked. The wife is getting a little upset that she cant cook now. Any help would be greately appreciated.

it sounds like you have a 3 phase circuit and i'm guessing that by loading the new hob up all on one phase you blew out the fuse/breaker.

is there a breaker 3 modules wide or a group of 3 fuses at your consumer unit for the hob? and if so what rating are they?

what is your intake arrangement like?

All the electric is on an ELCB system. It says at the breaker box its a 230v 50Hz, the unit is protected with 32A, It did not trip the breaker, the unit just did not come on. The hob also says it is 230v. It is in the box at the wall it has 5 wires and on the old hob 5 wires.
