Been a while since I would have described myself as a metal fan... Coal Chamber, Napalm Death, Cradle of Filth... used to visit Excel's nightclub in Birmingham frequently too.

If you fancy something a little more mellow, try Inkubus Sukkubus... some pagan rock for you there.

I can definitely recommend seeing Cradle of Filth live... three words... "leb5ians on stage".

My personal tastes are more blues or older soul, not to keen on northern soul though.

Van Morrison, Eric Clapton, BB King, Etta James, Nina Simone,Susan Tedeschi(or the Derek Trucks band)ZZ Hill (Bobby Bland) or any Motown(as it ever been bettered?) music.

Or maybe the Stones, still the best white mans blues(new single is as good as ever) group. Some of the newer lady singers are tops too, such as Norah Jones or Katie Melua, I think its great to see proper singing voices coming into fashion(so to speak) again.

Just kidding, I too prefer "proper" instruments and voices rather than a MIDI-sequencer backing track and digitally-altered voices.

Very true totally boring crappy music? Irish Americans keep it going, but have you noticed as he has got older you can hardly understand a word he says on his records it's as if he cant be bothered to open his mouth

The new Kraftwerk is a live album, very little new work on it but some very good rehashing of the old favourites. I think they are bringing out a DVD version soon (if not already).

Perhaps Van Morrison is aiming to get the Bob Dylan sound, with the incoherant mumbles?

i saw em live the other week. they sound heavier on stage, and all the pyro made it a good show
