Due to the scrappage deal by the govenment, not a lot of 2nd hand cars available..good luck! Check the dates of manufacture, for excessive tax prices.

why not buy privately in the same age bracket? apart from finance or the warranty security blanket to non diy types i see no reason to buy from a dealer.

Your right and I have not ruled out private purchase, it's been that long since I have been in to a dealer though, just wondered what tricks to play if any?
Plus the part ex would be handy!

Depends what you are going to part ex if its a older car a better price can got from a private sale.
it's an old corsa, not sure of it's market value could be anything between £150-2000 according to internet valuation. Not done that much milage for age 1997 and 50k
Got a pal that might have a fiesta for sale 2007, 9000 miles, wants 4K.

We have just sold the daughters 1997 peugeot 106 for £725,have a look in the local papers to get a feel for local prices. The car had done 86,000
miles but the engine was as sound as a pound, it had just been through its m.o.t with no expenditure needed.

I see Vauxhall are offering a lifetime guarantee on all models. Might be worth a look although there are conditions.
The new Corsa is a nice car
