I recently had a landing ceiling replaced, along with a section of plaster that had previously been damp in our bedroom (The damp issue was resolved last year) I used my builder (plenty of feedback a few negatives but mainly positive) and the guy came and put on the boards on the first day. I took a look at the landing and bedroom before and both looked to have gaps in between the boards that in my opinion were too large. The bedroom one was just loads of what looked like off cuts (images shown), I couldn’t quite understand why and the gaps were big and asked him the following morning but assured me they’d be filled. I didn’t really understand why he just wouldn’t cut out a decent large square and replace it with 1 large board or 2 at most. Anyway they plastered and it wasn’t great, I spent a lot of time sanding down edges but my back is shafted so can only do so much. I painted it, and well you can see the results. Before I send the guy pictures amand leave a not so positive review I wouldn’t mind some feedback!

Cheap job maybe. Guy using offcuts.
I can see he never cut existing plasterboard back to a straight square finish.
Not a good job boarding and not a good job plastering.

Watch. On the trowel... YouTube channel.
Recently he boarded a slope and look at his plastering.

Tell me about it, after a sanding, some multi layers of of toupret in the edge gaps, 2 mists, layer of polycell crack paint and the a coat of emulsion on it feels like I’ve half polished a turd.
