yes that was an option.Buy some ready mixed plaster (knauf stuff is ok) https://www.wickes.co.uk/Knauf-Easy...9jQBedOORpoGmP0h1ZAaAmkJEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds
Skim it in as best you can and then sand it back till it's flat.
That or remove what you've done and do it again
Then buy some bookshelves to put in front of it all.Buy some ready mixed plaster (knauf stuff is ok) https://www.wickes.co.uk/Knauf-Easy...9jQBedOORpoGmP0h1ZAaAmkJEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds

I dont understand what you mean? The gas pipe is in the same place it was put in by the builders, its just now been capped off, whats the difference now?The ones not at risk of being screwed/nailed through.
Without being sarcastic tell me exactly what you want me to do with a redundant but live gas pipe in the wall? Im not gas trained.None at all to someone who can psychically or x-ray visionally detect the presence of a gas pipe where no gas fire exists.
yes that was an option.
another option is i was maybe going to cut a much bigger hole and dot and dab a new piece of board in?
What about the powdered adhesive you make up rather than the expanding foam type? Takes 90 mins to set so allows time to adjust the board and isent full of toxins and carcinogens like the foam stuff? You could.
In the past I've used expanding foam plasterboard adhesive.
I pre drilled holes in the plaster board and wall, and inserted Rawl plugs, I then used the foam adhesive on the back of the board, mounted the board and then waited for the foam to expand the board out, I then used the screws to pull the board level.
I didn't use plasterboard screws as they were too short just ordinary screws but fat ones so they didn't pull through the board
Get it disconnected and capped off at the other end so that it is no longer live.Without being sarcastic tell me exactly what you want me to do with a redundant but live gas pipe in the wall? Im not gas trained.
Not anywhere and everywhere.Anyone drilling into walls should always be wary of pipes and cables behind the wall.
No - we are telling you not to remove the only thing that would show the presence of the gas pipe and then hide the pipe. You literally are telling me to reroute gas pipes......
No i wont do that, there is literally no need to do that, just making more work and more costs for myself, would literally require hunting for the end of the pipe and ripping the wall away again.Get it disconnected and capped off at the other end so that it is no longer live.

what were the wall plugs for?
Ah is it a lot more sticky im assuming?you can, but the powder stuff if you go too far in you cant pull it back out again.
i used rawl plugs for the screws as i didnt have wooden battens to screw against.
