New roof on a semi-detatched - does this look right?

Is it of great importance that the bonding gutter is over the party wall?

No. Sometimes the party wall is too high and the gutter wont sit without further work to it. Also the tiles as above will dictate the location.

alternate cousres of the neighibours tile hav been cut, why not STRAIGHT...and there is no excuse for the new tiles to be out of line.. there is no reason for messing up this very simple detail

Previous post from Woody == "Of course it does. Cut the edge of the interlocking tile and it wont sit flat

Also, you can't expect a roofer to go on to the neighbours roof [trespass] and start aligning all the tiles just to get a straight edge

As you well know, you cant just move the end tile, else you will open up the joint to the next tile along"==

Saying that cutting the edge of the tile will cause it to not sit flat is irrelevant as this is where the skill of the roofer comes to play as the edges of the tiles should be bedded into mortar up the length of the Bonding Gutter and tamped down to sit properly aligned.
Also the roofer has no need to trespass on the neighbours roof as the introduction of a BG will allow a roofer to be able to cut a line up the tiles whilst still allowing each course to sit, bedded on mortar or not, in a straight line sitting in its correct position over the BG.
In short you are cutting enough off the tiles that sit over the Party Wall to be able to introduce the BG and the tiles on the Party Wall are common to both properties so don't have ownership by one neighbour or the other but both.
