OK. I have decided to get rid of the tyres on the Mitsu. I am going to buy an all season tyre. Auto Express' top three are:
1. GY Vector 4seasons Gen-2
2. Conti all season contact
3. Mich Cross Climate+
I have experience of the CC+, as we have these on our car, but I thought I would look at the others, particularly as the CC+ (which was a previous AE all seaon tyre test winner) has been overtaken by the Conti and now the GY.
So, I went on tyre reviews website.
Their test categories are:
Dry Grip, Wet Grip, Road Feedback, Handling, Wear, Comfort, Snow Grip, Ice Grip.
I have looked at 5 of those in particular: Dry Grip, Wet Grip, Handling, Snow Grip and Ice Grip
The Conti has the best figures for these categories of those three tyres (apart from Dry Grip, where it loses one point to the Mich).
The average score of those three tyres is:
Conti: 89
Mich: 81.625
GY: 77.5
I have alway respected the AE product test scores, but there seems to be a discrepancy in these results.
The one AE places top of the pile, Tyre Reviews puts at the bottom.
Which should I buy? Am I overthinking this?
