Are they both people taking law into their own hands ...yes or no ?You're equating an attack on an airport with someone on a bus who hasn't paid?
Really?

Yes.Are they both people taking law into their own hands ...yes or no ?
A totally different scenario...
All your post does is show your racist attitude and vigilante approval...
Which is by the way against the law on both counts
So do you believe people should get away with assault when there is no threat?
Beating up an old granny, is an indictable offence, so the citizen has both power to intervene, use reasonable force and make a lawful arrest.Yes.
But there are differences that most level-headed people would accept.
For example, if I'm walking along and I see someone battering an old granny with no sign of any police, might I intervene? Yes.
If I see someone get on a bus, sit down and not pay, might I intervene? No.
There are obvious differences in situations.
You might ? intervene with the granny what would stop you ? And as for the bus he has clearly walked past the protesting driver thinking fek him and a passenger who has paid has thought no fek you . You are offYes.

Oh for goodness sake. You might ? intervene with the granny what would stop you ? And as for the bus he has clearly walked past the protesting driver thinking fek him and a passenger who has paid has thought no fek you . You are off
What can't you answer under what circumstances you would help the granny ?Oh for goodness sake.
Goodbye ...
It's not a case of can't answer, it's a case of knowing the posts will go round and round and round. Some on here seem to love that ... I don'tWhat can't you answer under what circumstances you would help the granny ?
Fare dodging isn't only a problem in Scotland. After the Scots handled the situation when they tried to blow up Glasgow Airport few years back, it showed that they won't put up with this nonsense. This video reinforces my opinion. It also reinforces the freeloading attitude of 'arrivals'.
You need to be careful about intervening .Criminal Law Act 1967
An Act to amend the law of England and Wales by abolishing the division of crimes into felonies and misdemeanours and to amend and simplify the law in respect of matters arising from or related to that division or the abolition of it; to do away (within or without England and Wales) with certain...www.legislation.gov.uk
fare evasion is a crime so...
A person may use such force as is reasonable in the circumstances in the prevention of crime, or in effecting or assisting in the lawful arrest of offenders or suspected offenders or of persons unlawfully at large.

the above isn't, but its still illegal, giving the skinny bloke, a potential defence for his actions - preventing a crime.
Great scene, reminds of this Nazi joke:Fare dodging isn't only a problem in Scotland.
You need to be careful about intervening .
Years ago I was on my way home from the pub, when I saw a man shouting at a woman , the man was pushing the woman , the woman was telling the man to f***off.
I walked over and told the bloke to leave the woman alone, the next thing I knew the pair of them started on me.
I pushed the bloke over a hedge, the woman was the worst, she kept trying to hit me with her shoe, obviously because she was a woman I couldn't restrain her as she would probably accuse me assault or something.
After that I vowed never to intervene again in any similar situation.
