sometimes the dearest quote isnt always the best
our old boiler packed up just before Christmas 6 years ago & the only ones who would fit a new one were BG
the job they did was rubish
leaking pipes
bad soldering
had to keep getting them back
& cost a bloody fortune
Caius, sorry to hear that you have had bad service from a corgi guy.As previous posts have advised, installation of thermostatic radiator valves, and a boiler interlock(room thermostat},should solve your problems. This will prevent boiler cycling.Good luck,Mike.
At the end of the day, it is very difficult to make judgement in above case. Client supplies boiler which no one wants to fit (as it can open a can of worms). Then one installer comes along and fits above boiler.
Now, did he only undertake to only swop the boiler, or did he specify the full works. I for one, am reluctant to fit a customer supplied boiler as there can be difficulties on completion. What if the boiler fails to fire up. I as a fitter would not be responsible for boiler malfunction (as long as my work was not defective).
What I see is a client who supplies a boiler becuase he/ she does not want to be ripped off and an installer who want to make a quick buck. See this often. Run up to Christmas, am already getting people phoning for quotes for fires sourced from B in the Q. Post Chrismas there will be calls from yet more, whose fires will be malfunctioning (a fair number due to bad instals)
