it does not centralise the data collected
It is believed that No 10 bases its claim on the fact that no other country’s app – because it does not centralise the data collected – can co-ordinate with a physical system to trace the contacts of people infected.
That's a bit of a twisted view John. The reason all countries don't want the googaple app is that they need the information that it doesn't supply.By defining their requirements in a way that cannot be fulfilled, they have condemned the UK proposal to failure and wasted effort.
Top bloke.(Boris)He is completely out of his depth!
And therein lies the problem...many countries (including Germany) dislike the idea of a government recording and centrally storing personal data on the wherabouts and contacts of millions of citizens. So too do Facebook and Google.
Apparently the Cummings government considers this a really great thing to do.
Always....Wait until he starts with analogies!!That's a bit of a twisted view John

As usual the UK government does everything too late and believes it is the best at everything.
And why a 'trial run' when one has successfully been run in Iceland.
So successful (along with testing, which hasn't been solved here) that the country effectively came out of lockdown yesterday...
