Nigel Farage steps down after achieving his ambition.

Well up to today, there was a restriction on travelling out of France except for extremely good reasons.
But from today France has relaxed that Covid restriction, for people wishing to travel to UK.

Are Germany allowing the French across their border yet?

The EU is getting less democratic by the day.
They have stripped 2 Catalonian politicians of their immunity from extradition to Spain.
Their "crime" was organising a referendum on Catalonian independence.
They could face up to 13 years in jail

Nicola Sturgeon should take note and thank G-d she lives in the UK.
MEPs enjoy a certain amount of immunity because they are MEPs.
The EU parliament removed that immunity on Spanish politicians.
Spain still has to apply to the individual countries concerned for extradition.

It's probably correct that MEPs should not enjoy EU diplomatic immunity for being MEPs if they campaign illegally in their own country.
Surely it becomes an issue for that member state alone.

And does the UK not have a one sided extradition 'treaty' with 'good old uncle sam' that goes back to 2003?

Penalties over there are much harsher!
