No diplomatic status for Eu!

So the 27 nations combined have roughly the same number as the UK. WOW.

The EU as an entity has diplomatic representation as do the individual 27 nations.
They have an Ambassador at the UN.
The idea is to make it easy to talk to a representative of an entity - so the UK Government would have a representative of the EU in London (presumably) to talk to, charm, express dissatisfaction at.

If the UK Government is angry at say, Russia, Boris does not ring Putin. The FO will call in the Russian Ambassador and "protest". That is how the rest of the world actually works.

The truth according to Brigadier. :ROFLMAO:
Thought-provoking. :ROFLMAO:
You've managed to illustrate your ability to generate a good laugh.

"Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone."

Wouldn't you agree, Dazzler / Himmy / Walkwithturkeys / RN Reindeer / Roguehanger / Red Herring (and Red Herring 1, 2, 3, et al), et al..........;)

What are you going on about now, other than spoiling, yet again, a perfectly reasonable thread.
Who are all those people?

The UK will be ending the diplomatic immunity status of the Commonwealth representatives then?
Diplomatic Immunities (Conferences with Commonwealth Countries and Republic of Ireland) Act 1961
as an Act of the Parliament of the United Kingdom.
The Act extends to representatives of the British Commonwealth and the Republic of Ireland the same diplomatic rights as those of representatives of other foreign states.

More fool those 142, and more fool the 27 for allowing it.
Notch regular derided brexiteers for "cakeism" ; this is just the same.

I didn't see us kicking up a fuss about it when we were part of the EU.

It's a nice distraction by the Government.

Diplomatic immunity

We are not saying we are not going to talk to a EU representative are we? Why the need for immunity? Immunity from what - parking fines, speeding, killing young men on motorcycles? Can the UK not talk to a EU representative in London without them having diplomatic immunity?

I suppose they could do it over the phone, instead of a busy, difficult capital city?
Problem solved - no more diplomatic journeys necessary - EU or otherwise.

Trump rejected the EU ambassador, then he walked it back. Mini trump will do the same, or whomever the Tories replace him with.

Must be the Austrian influence.

The reasons for the EU's stance are unclear - but given the strained nature of relations between the bloc and the UK in the light of Brexit it seems reasonable to think it may be a factor.

LOL It's even more reasonable to assume that the USA is anti EU because it is.

Actually the EU have said they will approve it and also that they aren't that happy about the UK's approval process. USA isn't either. So there can be political aspects. Another was the USA looking at China's vaccine and saying it was 50% effective so China looked at one of theirs and said theirs is too.

I think the use when and where will become apparent later on more or less world wide.

I'm beginning to suspect that you're getting your information from a rogue, fake news, anti-EU site.
Coronavirus: Hungary first in EU to approve Russian vaccine
On Thursday, Prime Minister Viktor Orban's chief of staff confirmed both the Russian jab and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine had been given the green light by the health authorities.
https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-55747623
It is highly improbable that EU prevents Ireland from using the Oxford vaccine, but allows Hungary to use the Russian vaccine, and the Oxford vaccine.
