sometimes you need to put the RCD switch to off then on to reset them.
It may look like its in the on position when actually it has tripped.
Your kettle could be to blame as thats what you were using when you lost power, unplug this until you get power back on
*EDIT* if all fuses are in one row its unlikely the main switch has tripped as your lights are still on
we have done that the switch has definitely not tripped as when i press the red button the white button pops out. when i push white button back in the sockets still dont work. my electrics have always been sensitive even if a light bulb blows it trips the switch
