Supermarket has closed the fish and meat counters. And there's no eggs. What's going on?

Surely eggs is something when always made enough of? Maybe labour issues, or bird flu?

Sounds like cost rises, maybe labour, but likely energy, resulting in many small producers closing business.

See in Lidles the other day only cadged birds eggs when left.

I'd rather go without than eat cadged

Aldi has eggs, limit of 3 packs per customer. Shortage due to avian flu.

There is no shortage of eggs! go to a local farm shop there are loads. The shortage is created by the supermarkets refusal to pay the producers a decent amount. pure greed.
That’s correct , Farmers have condemned the news stories about avian flu and Brexit affecting supplies , they have lots of eggs just no one to sell too at a reasonable price ,

Supermarkets are being cheapskate rip-off merchants by only offering a pittance to the egg suppliers.

But in notices in stores, they are blaming birdie flu.

Egg shortage is like the tomato shortage which is like the labour shortage.

Offer a low price, and don't be surprised when you don't get many takers.
