Who said you were entitled free speech in a private forum? 
If someone was a guest in your house, and they started spouting off things you didn't want to hear and refused to stop, what would you do? You would tell them to naff off. Fair enough, it's your house.
This is a privately-owned forum. You could go and start your own one if you liked, and then you could have all the freedom of speech you want.

If people were allowed to bring such issues to the table then perhpas they could be dealt with better....by being out in the open.
We are so riddled and wrapped up in pc in this country we are too scared to upset anybody.
Take the people who shot that PC last week.....we cant say too much about them because they are all (of another persusion) instead the loony left are probably looking at ways of blaming ourselves for not making them welcome enough.
Us Brits are fairly tolerent people.....and im sure we would all get along fine with dare I say it......foreign people

Surely the process of a true democracy should keep nutters and extremists at bay. But what if the masses decide they want to eg "kill all foreigners". Someone should step in, right?

Indeed, I agree.
Thing is there are very few (if any) liberal pinkos here in this forum. Some people are more liberal on some issues than others, however I think that the majority of posters here actually have a pretty average, centre-ish view of politics and life in general. Just as in real life to be honest. The liberal loons in real life are a minority, just a very noisy annoying one.
Of course it's all a matter of perspective: if you are a loonie-lefty then you will think anyone who votes New Labour is a capitalist pig dog and probably used to say things like "come the revolution". And if you read neo-nazi websites whilst thinking "Hey, good point!" then you will probably think the BNP is a bunch of pinko liberals.
But I am adamant that 95%+ of the regular posters here are actually pretty central and could be described neither as a liberal pinko nor an extremist.
