Hello all.
System is a Baxi WM 30/3 boiler (old but has had a new thermostat last year) and does work fine, a new Grundfos intelligent Alpha pump, Magentic filter, Honeywell 3 way valve.
2 tanks in the loft, one tank in the airing cupboard, boiler in the garage

Problem is:
When the hot water comes on in the morning on the timer, the whole system in the airing cupboard makes a whoooosing sound, like there is air in the system, but it been bled so many times now and no air comes out. The noise only comes from the pipes in here. And it stops after around 2 minutes.
What is it and how do we fix it please? Any ideas?

I have uploaded some pictures so you can see the pipe work.
Thanks!

check pump setting ,also put a magnet round the expansion /cold feed connection (l/hand pic joint by wiring box) is should not stick to copper if it does sludge in system

Thanks for the reply,
It did not sticky, but there was more friction that I expected.

I think it might need a clean maybe,

I was going to use this:

then drain it off and put this in:

What do you think will this help?

Thanks!

It's the brass fitting at the end of the 15mm pipe which is t'd off the cylinder circuit. (In the first pic, at the very top)

Why are you adding leak sealer?

Could you recommend an automatic bleeder thing?

Also was going to pour it into the header tank after draining it. I have a couple of radiators I think have pin hole leaks

Thanks!

If you have a hidden leak this could be where air is being drawn in to the system. No idea where the leak may be? Why do you think there's a leak somewhere?

Try the pump at speed 3 for a few secs then down to 1... wait and repeat. It might push the air up and out.

Though it's not the cause of your air issue I'd fit the Spirotech filter on the boiler return pipe, if at all possible. Could be done when you change the rads.

I think we have a air leak somewhere as the radiators need bleeding every other week

Can I mix the two sentinel products?

Thanks

With corrosion and pin holes in the rads it might be hydrogen sulphide, not air. Does the gas smell of rotten eggs?

Sounds like your system needs a powerflush as well as new rads.

Nope gas is not smelly. Thanks
