According to the correspondent tonight on r5live, he too thought "Brexit", when he heard the news.
However (and apparently, Honda are going to make an unequivocal announcement to this effect tomorrow), Brexit had nothing to do with their decision.

Real reason is falling demand, especially for diesel.
Also, their 1.9 million-cars-per-year has spare capacity, so they're rationalising production by ditching the 150k p.a. plant.

R5L tonight, about half past five?

They are citing global trends.

Most expansion of car sales has been China and has currently dried up due to China's stalling economy.

I wonder if Chinas housing bubble is going to burst. Its a crazy situation; 50 million empty apartments

They will. Still the UK taking the hit though. They'll want to keep a semblance of rational pragmatism with a pinch of appeasement, just in case the UK sees sense. 50 years hmm.

Me, I'm just going to develop my sense of humour even further.

What’s boring is that in these tough times when there is a general turndown in trade, any firm that's wanting to make cuts always seems to mention Brexit as one of the reasons and you remainers, like sheep, jump straight on it and say “There you go, bloody Brexit again!”

It’s a wonder you lot haven't quoted Fly BMI that’s just gone pop - they’re saying part of its due to Brexit uncertainty. What a load of cobblers - the travel expert on the telly yesterday stated a fact that over the last so many months, they’ve averaged just 18 passengers per flight. Just the directors of another badly managed business trying to put the blame on anyone or anything bar themselves.

Theres no doubt Brexit uncertainty is an aspect to the decision.

Taking beck control!
Freedom to make awesome trade deals!
Blue passports!

Don't worry, will bounce back, in about 30 years.

I wonder if they've still got the reliant robin blueprints? I'd give me right knacker to see tranny
& co toodling off to work (if they have any) in one of them. :sneaky:

A German design would suit the brexers better
