If the snake is in one of the structural members of the car will any heat output be registered by the camera? And if it's got in somewhere how does it get out? If it's in the sill section ( for example ) and got in from the back wouldn't it appear at the front of the car? That's why I asked what diameter it is . I'm assuming snakes can't move backwards ?

Thickest part of her is about 22mm - guess how I gauged that

OK, so you'd see a bulge if she was under the carpet. What about a borescope (? - camera on a flexible stem ) to look in any openings in the car's frame?

I've not long back from seeing the latest Alien movie, and fire seemed to be a good way of flushing the xenomorph out,
perhaps if you rigged up a couple of blow torches and started at the back of the car and worked your way foward, setting fire to the car as you go it could flush the critter out?

How long before she needs to feed (and how long before you're nerves give out). You can't run the cars air con to drive her to a heat source, as she may gravitiate toward the engine if she's in the front. I assume you've got no garage, othewise I'd put it in there, and leave the doors open with a small bar fire going.

But I did a google search, and came up with this (the Shaddis says bit). Apparently, it's a common problem in America.

Found! Or rather she appeared whilst the missus was refuelling at Tesco's and wondered who'd left a belt on the floor of the forecourt - until it moved and the penny dropped!!

Almost two weeks and I took the bloody car apart and spent a day putting it back together again.

Thanks to all... especially @The Real Pin 5, will get that FLIR back to you pronto mate.

I think she was up behind the dashboard somewhere but it's a maze up there and tight as a nun's knickers - even a boroscope couldn't get to most of it!
