I am doing the 101 and 105e week after next at a cost of £413.

What location are you?

Alan

You need the 600A if you are doing anything with oil tanks in premisis other than a single family dwelling.

Thanks alan is that the training and the assesment lasting about 3 days in total. I have seen some for around £500 but i couldnt believe it was for both. Im in Norfolk

Thanks oilman

one more question while i think of it up to what size boiler can i work on with the above, coz the literature states small commercial and im hoping this means the type found in small factory units. hot air blowers
this is probably a bit vague sorry but up till now i havnt taken a great deal of notice of them

Combined Heating Services (01603 622001) are listed a offering training in Norwich.

Size of boilers covered - don't know but had intended to ask when I started the course. Will post answer then.

Please let me know where you get your liability insurance. Factory units come under industry and not commerce, and the Oftec insurance scheme with Zurich does not cover industrial premises. I can work on hotels with 6 floors and 50 bedrooms, but I can't work on a business start-up unit with 1 warm air blower.

For information except prices you should contact OFTEC or look at the website.

Be warned, the environment agency is very interested in problems with oil tanks. The control of pollution legislation is quite onerous, make sure you don't miss anything.

my insurance is as yours I was hoping to use the oftec scheme when i get through it,

thats blown that idea then for the minute

as soon as I find a decent insurer for commercial units I will let you know

as there are so many starter units around me it just has to be viable

I like an optimistic approach, (it compensates for the lack of income).:D

NIG used to have an insurance scheme, it was the best value for money available, but someone (er....O...c?) complained about competitiveness, and with only a small take-up, NIG withdrew.

If anyone from NIG reads this, PLEEEEASE reinstate your scheme.
