Anyone got any bright ideas for getting engine oil off block-pavers? My POS peugeot has oozed onto the drive and SWMBO is giving me grief. I've tried scrubbing brushes / stardrops / pressure washing - I wondered about caustic soda, but whether this is a step too far? Any plausible suggestions gratefully recieved.

washing up liquid, elbow grease, broom, water

but not in that order

Try Finish Line EcoTech-2 degreaser I find it works on the patio slabs when I get oil on them. I beleive you can get it at Halfords - probably in the cycle section.

Sorry to hijack this thread gents, but would the above work on tarmac. A friends car dumped its PAS fluid onto my tarmac. Tried Thompsons (so called) drive cleaner to no avail. Neighbour mentioned degreaser though.

Sadly not, it need to be soak up as the oil turn the bitumen into liquid.

Try using oil absorbent granules over it for a couple of day then sweep it up.

If it's really bad then the only option I can see to cut a square section and renew with tarmac.
