They are double pole switches.
That is the just switch on and off the Line and Neutral supplies.

What do they control?


The link doesn't work - can't see what you bought.
 
@EFLImpudence this is what I bought. There is a room with 2 light circuits.

Connect the red wires like this - mark them before disconnecting so they don't get mixed up - and

Join all four black wires together in one connector block - discard the black link wire.

When you say `Join all four black wires together in one connector block - discard the black link wire.` do you mean don't connect them to the switch and put them into a connector block outside of the switch?
 
Out of interest how come? Why are they not needed?

The Black wires are all Neutrals - there is no need to switch them for internal lights.

One Supply Loop cable (Red and Black) brings power to the switch, another (Red and Black) takes the power to the next switch.

The third and fourth cables Have their Reds switched before taking power to the two lights.
