Hi just bought a flat and the WC is like 30 years old. Want to replace WC. This is a photo of old one.

It is one of these types

As you can see, the waste pipe is touching the panel at the back there and the pottery has a 90 degree twist. My question is that all new pans I see in shops have the waste hole come out straight, not at 90 degrees like the one which is there at the moment. Presumably therefore the pan has to come out more to allow a curved plastic pipe to go on? Will the cistern still be able to touch the wall or will it have to come forward as well? The type of new toilet I would like is one of these.
