As soon as I removed the front panel, the keypad sounded continuously. To stop that I switched it off at the fuse box which silenced the panel but set off the outside bell.
I replaced the cover, switched the power back on and my usual code then worked to reset it to day mode.
So
Order new battery
Open cover do not turn off power
Disconnect battery by taking leads off old battery
Reconnect new battery red lead to red terminal and black lead to black terminal.
Put lid back on and reset with your user code.
If you turn off power and then disconnect battery you will need to completely reprogram your alarm system as it will lose its memory and you will require professional help in reprogramming.
This panel does not have a NVM backup.
All electrics are dangerous, so you need to be careful.
The problem you have is if the control panel is totally turned off mains electric and battery you will lose the alarm programming.
If the panel defaults you will not be able to set alarm correctly.
Probably a silly question...it looks like I need a new 12v 3.4ah battery for my old alarm system. All the ones available locally are 3.2ah. Will that do?
