Hi there,

I have a two way one gang set of switches that are wired as follows:

red => C
blue/red => L1
yellow/black => L2

and the second switch:

red => C
blue => L1
yellow => L2

the varilights have a live/slave/load terminal setup. I tried:

red to live on both switches
blue/red to load on switch one AND blue to Load to switch two
yellow/black to slave on switch one AND yellow to slave on switch two

with no luck.

Any advice gratefully received.

Thanks in advance.

According to the instructions
At your main (master) switch with both the T&E (red(Assumed live)/black(assumed switch live)) and three core and earth(red/blue/Yellow - assumed to be strappers) cables.
The T&E red goes into the Live
The T&E black goes into Load.(squiggly line with arrow).
The three core at the main switch - Red to Live, yellow to Load and blue to S(lave).
At the the slave red to live, yellow to load and blue to S(lave).
If you have tried various combinations live you could have fried your switch.

with no luck.
Why did you do that instead of following the instructions which came with the switches?
