This Government is trying to buy votes in the run up to the election. some of their methods are.
A one off increase in the rate support grant to enable lower council tax rises. Pensioners this year were given the usual heating allowance plus another one off £100 to help with council tax. This fox hunting ban is pure politics of envy and is a cynical attempt to gain the populist vote. The animal rights activists are also against fishing, why haven't they banned that too?
It is generally accepted by many political pundits that the Labour party are after the Muslim vote with their anti semitic views. They first showed this with their racist flying pigs and then again with Ken Livingstones racist comment too. It is worth noting he has again refused (today) to apologise even though he said he would after the IOC left. The Muslim opinion of Jews is worsened by the Isreal situation and Labour are bringing it into the fore. There are far fewer Jews than Muslims in the UK, (some would say because Labour are letting in more and more), whilst many people believe the Government is again after the populist vote amongst Muslims.
Tell me richard you are usually against individual predjudice so why do you have such a view of the rich? it sounds like socialist envy to me.

True Richard, they are all after our votes. Except Michael Howard isn't using taxpayers money, whereas Labours bribes, oops, I mean electioneering is.

But richard you are a Europhile and they provide the grants through CAP. I am totally opposed to the EU but I am sure they don't subsidise fox hunting as you say.
That was uncalled for and this comment is odd considering you once bought a tenent farm and it failed. Is that the real reason you said it?
I apologise for my outburst but only because my mate dave told me off!!! If I wanted to get harassed by a farmer I'd go for a walk in the countryside but I don't expect it when I come here for a bit of banter with me mates after a hard day in the office.

I actually thought Freddie's posts were very good, he obviously has first hand knowledge. The thing is though we are all agree about the hunting itself. As usual its the politics we fall out on.
I'm not suprised though Richard with you being a lefty Labourite it is easy to fall out.
